(evidently their favorite time to approach land). Sightings seem to be slightly more frequent around the time of the full moon, but this is difficult to document due to the scarcity of raw data.
This 54” hand-painted tree skirt has been fashioned of lightweight upholstery fabric and water-based textile paints. Each of the five maidens has differently colored skirt-scales and her own unique hair color. The artist has applied many shades of blue, aqua, green and turquoise to these aquatic ladies and the pairs of seahorses marking the spaces between the maids.
This unique tree skirt will accommodate a tree trunk up to 4 ½” in diameter. Interlined with lightweight quilt batting and lined with complementary solid color fabric. The skirt closes with mesh loops over real seashells for buttons. Coordinates nicely with stockings from this shop. Limited availability on this design; it is advisable to order by Thanksgiving so that you can be sure to receive your tree skirt before Christmas.
GOOD NEWS: Also available in tabletop tree 28" size! See separate listing or convo the artist. Designed, painted, sewn, signed and copyrighted on a small island north of Seattle, where mermaids are always welcome. Why not invite a few to your home for Christmas?
