if you want to make
an apple pie from scratch
you must first create
the universe
This is a second from a series of plates I make for Mission Pie ( http://missionpie.com ). As shown in the photos, there is one spot that is much more starkly white than the rest of the plate, where some porcelain clay got mixed into my stoneware by mistake. The price has been discounted to reflect this.
Measurements: 5.5", the perfect size for a slice of pie!
My plates are food-, microwave-, and dishwasher-safe. They can also be used in a non-preheated oven. I use this same style of plates I made for myself in my home, and can testify to their durability and usefulness.
As you can see in the photos, these plates do stack well, however, they are not all precisely the same size/shape, or precisely symmetrical. I think this is part of their charm!
The glaze covers the entire top of the plates, and the undersize is unglazed, burnished buttery-smooth, and signed by me. These are wonderfully tactile--I love handling them.
All of my work is entirely hand-built from clay. Each plate is individually illustrated.
These are also available in 6" and 8" sizes, and in larger or differently-colored sets. Contact me if you would like a custom order, bearing in mind that my turnaround time is currently about 6-8 weeks.
