I had been trying to piece together fabric scraps from an antique quilt when thinking about this news and soon what I had under the needle in my machine turned towards an Engelbreit sensibility and this is my homage to her.
So, if you, or someone you know is a lover of all things Mary Engelbreit, this quilt is the perfect gift to wrap a new baby or even use as a lap quilt. Mary Engelbreit fabric from Moda is used to sash the pieced "bars" to create the flower and to bind the quilt. A Benertex calico print in yellow and red is used as the backing.
I have machine quilted with a cotton batt and I used cotton thread. I have also prewashed this quilt to ensure stability, vintage fabric quality and to give the "antiqued" look of a well loved quilt.
It measures 39" x 49" and will be sure to please the recipient because it is so soft. Shipping is by USPS priority box (usually two days to arrive).
