A large printers type box, 35 x 35 inches is made by jointing 2 standard sized type trays, spaces are changed, and a removable frame is added. Sea shells from around the world are selected. They are composed, many requiring cutting and grinding for presentation within shallow spaces. Narrow shells are raised. This box is stained or painted in a white washed finish.
The image is a specific piece that has been sold. I remake the it but every one is different. Though I use many of the same type of shells, every composition or collage is different. No two boxes are the same.
The frame is removable. It retains a clear acrylic sheet that covers the box.
