My mixed media Luna Chicks series is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Agnes Padilla Fajardo and my grandmother, Rosita Valdez Padilla. My grandparent’s chili farm was located in Puerto de Luna,near the muddy waters of the Pecos River in Northeastern New Mexico.
It has served as a great inspiration to my art due to the rich family history and my childhood memories of green chili fields in the summer and red chili ristras decorating every adobe house in the fall. The mixed media of the Luna Chicks signify the beauty and strength of diverse experiences and culture brought together to create life and art. My goal is to create dramatically beautiful, feminine art, to enhance the romance of any room, bedroom, office, or studio.
