Black Kukui Nut Lei
From RedhawkCouncil
Kukui nut leis are a striking display of traditional Hawaiian craft. Brought to Hawaii by the native Polynesian settlers, the kukui nut or candlenut is one of the most common trees in the Hawaiian forests. The blond, dark brown, or black nuts are painstakingly sanded and polished before they are strung to make these beautiful kukui nut leis.
