These tiny little earrings are just so perfect! Deep blue cerulean colored glass beads (made by the Krobo tribe) are simply hung from sterling silver french hook ear wires. The beads truly speak for themselves. The organic shape and rich gem like color are gorgeous...they remind me of the frosted, tumbled look of sea glass.
As an added bonus, these unique glass beads are handmade and eco-friendly! I find that they are the perfect everyday-wear earrings. See the fifth photo for other colors available.
Approx. Length: .5 inch dangle
History of beads:
These great beads are made by the Krobo People of Ghana, Africa. Powder glass beads are made by crushing old glass bottles to a fine powder and heating it so that the particles fuse together. The glass is then poured into clay molds, with a cassava leaf stem used to make the hole. They are baked in an oven and the glass fuses and the cassava stem burns up. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries.
