I have to say that I agree with him, but I do think modifications are okay! "Mazzaroth", my first collection of constellation jewelry has been very well received and I've been wanting to try something new with the concept. This new series should be entitled, "Mazzaroth II", since it is the same basic idea but the pendants are powder coated giving it more of a sleek appearance. I will be gradually adding more color to this collection but I wanted to start with a basic white gloss powder coat paint. This disc is made out of brass. The zodiac constellation of Scorpio has been drilled with the corresponding stars aligned in the sky. I use a Swiss calendar from the 1900's as my template. The larger holes represent the brighter stars within the constellation. Each brass disc measures 1.25" in diameter. The second brass disc adds a nice contrast with the drilled holes. The blank pendant has been slightly burnished and the backside has been stamped with the three corresponding letters of the zodiac sign. In this case it is stamped, SCO, for Scorpio. The two pendants are attached to a brass jump ring. The pendants glide along a 30" oxidized brass chain. The closure is a brass jump ring.

**I outsourced the powder coating to a local professional here in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. I'm not out on my fire escape wreaking havoc with spray paint. The paint should maintain itself but to insure longevity be sensible about the piece. This is jewelry, wearing it in the shower may not be a good idea.
