Diana was not the first Amazon to don the American colors to fight evil... during the 1940's her mother, Queen of the Amazons joined the allied forces to fight Nazis. Her costume was a short opaque star-spangled navy blue twirl skirt with a red corset.
Over the years the Wonder Woman's costume has gone through many changes. This costume took it's inspiration from the 1940's version. The twirl skirt is a bit more risqué in that it is sheer! The boned corset is red satin which laces up the back. For the purpose of this costume the front is stitched closed. Through time the eagle has morphed into the double Ws and then into gilded boobs and back again.
I went with the gilded boobs. The sequins are tacked in place and you will be able to remove them, leaving you with a lovely red satin corset which can be worn all year long but will be very festive during the holidays.
The cape changes. I think I like this red satin with the flag best. I have had several styles. If you want a solid satin cape in either red or blue let me know when you order it. The measurements of the corset is with the laces closed. You have two to four inchs of play with the lacings. This one is for a very tiny woman or teen.
I can make this with a larger corset just convo me. I am working on a hoochi Batgirl costume it should be listed soon.
