I've used vintage nine patch blocks mixed with reproduction fabrics to create a soft, wonderful and very special baby quilt that is very gender neutral. I have also machine pieced four patches into circles for an addition design. This is a one of a kind quilt with the vintage blocks and because it is the quilt in the photographs, it is ready to ship.
The vintage blocks are 30's to mid century and I have used quality cottons ensure years of enjoyment. The backing fabric has a vanilla background with an alphabet pattern in cherry (Moda fabric). Vanilla describes the background perfectly. I used vintage muslin with a wonderful patina that matches the Moda print. Look at the photo with my shop tag and compare vanilla to white.
I have machine quilted with a cotton warm and natural batt used cotton thread in a free form swirl pattern. This is my version of the traditional utility all over quilting pattern known as ocean waves (as well as Methodist Fan or Baptist Fan - depending on which section of the country you lived). I prewashed this quilt to ensure stability, vintage fabric quality and to give the "antiqued" look of a well loved quilt. This also ensures me that when you wash your quilt you will get a quality product.
Measures 39" x 48 1/2" this small quilt could also be used as a lap quilt. Shipping is by USPS priority box (usually two days to arrive).
