London bridge is falling down.....
Well, it actually fell a while ago. What kept it up for quite a while though, were pointed pier supports called Starlings, which protected the piers from the strong tides of the Thames. They also concentrated the water into a rushing, frenzied mass that no ordinary person would dare traverse. "Shooting the Bridge" in a special boat with a fearless skipper was probably the Medieval Equivalent of the Worlds Fasted Roller Coaster.
The pointed shape of these little buttons remind me of the bridge's piers, but they will take you on a much more pleasant trip! Use them on a sweater, to close a handmade bracelet, or anywhere you would like a tiny twinkle.
Made of bronze, this button was fired of bronze clay, then hand and tumbler polished. It is just over 3/4" (1.9 cm) on it’s longest dimension, and has a very subtle curve that increases the dance of light across its surface.
Please hand wash, machine wash on your most delicate cycle in a mesh bag (no dryer), or dry clean.
Convo me to let me know how many you would like in your set. Quantities larger than seven are also available! While I try to keep these in stock, they may need to be especially made for your order. Please allow a week production time. If you need them sooner, let me know and I'll do my best.
These are also available in a hammered version.
If you would like, I will include button pin(s) with your order at no extra cost. These are specially designed safety pins that are made to secure buttons to garments securely while making them easily removable. On buttons without a shank (loop on the back) you can create your own shank by threading a few loops of yarn through the buttonholes and tying it off.
