This dress is fitted at the bust and underbust, loose in waist and hips, a-line skirt is meant to fit on the roomy side, hip measurement is needed to make sure of this. Fully lined, Side Seam Pockets.
Measurements needed: bust, under-bust band (upper torso around ribcage), bra-size, height and length from under-bust band to hem. Length as shown on sample measures 49" (124 cm) from top of under-bust band to hem, model is 6 feet tall (183 cm). This can be customized to fit your height.
When measuring circumference, use a seamstress measuring tape, pull it snug to get the most accurate measurements possible. Do not add ease, pull the measuring tape taut so the measurements are accurate (but not too tight that you are uncomfortable). I add ease to the measurements depending on the garment design, every design requires different amounts of ease or room to breathe. Measure over the undergarment you are planning on wearing under the dress. It helps to have someone to assist or go to an alterations shop for professional measurements if needed.
When measuring the under-bust make sure to measure the area on the torso just above the natural waist but below the bust area. the under-bust can also be defined as a high-waist around the ribcage.
When measuring length from under-bust to ideal hem: start the measurement tape at the top of the torso just under the bra edge hold it in place then run the tap along the front down til you reach the ideal length.
