The goddess Bastet (B3stt) took the form of a domestic cat (although at first she was a lioness and is also represented in human form with the head of a cat). For the Egyptians, as well as for other cultures, the domestic cat was an animal of great importance, as it controlled the plagues of rats that could destroy stored grain, and it even controlled the snakes. The goddess Bastet, with dual nature, protective and destructive, was the "Eye of Ra, his wife and daughter". His cult was linked to the monarchy and later, to home, music and joy.
