This is simply a beautiful piece of glass. It is rare, solid, well-made, high quality, and it dates from the 1920s or perhaps a little earlier. There is no maker's mark. It glows beautifully under black light, as the photos show. But in any light it's stunning, with that uniquely luminous yellow-green color good vaseline glass should always have. The main bowl has a cool striated look that creates an Art Deco impression. The 2 elephant heads are actually candleholders! There are a few air bubbles and there is an original manufacturer's irregularity in one of the heads, but isn't particularly noticeable unless you peer closely; it is a smooth but uneven rippling and an annealing mark. The camera wouldn't pick that up very well (last photo). Fortunately, it doesn't affect the integrity of the glass. But because of that, I've given this console bowl a lower price than it actually deserves. It is dazzling, truly.
