The Black Widow measures a total of 23 inches long including her hair. The circumference of her head including hair is 10 inches around.
Her spiders total measurements to the tips of legs are 3 inches tall x 6 3/4 inches wide x 8 inches deep.
I sculpted the Black Widows head, hands and feet using Paperclay over wood then covered that in Gesso, painted with acrylics and sealed with non-yellowing UV resistant Matte sealer and Glossed her eyes, lips and nails. Her hair is natural bamboo yarn in red (though in the photos it has an almost flourescent hue) and black.
I sewed her body with unbleached muslin using my own pattern and added craft pellets in the bottom for weight and fiberfill stuffing.
Her clothing, eyelashes and beads are all recycled items. The dress and robe I made using an old black lace skirt a friend had given me years ago. The lace had a couple of irreparable holes in it plus it didn't fit me anymore :D I had to make her a special pattern for that also. Clothes are NOT removable. I found her eyelashes a while back at a thrift store, cut them to size and sculpted them INTO her eyelids. No fear of them babies coming off over time! And the little shimmery red glass seed beads were given to me by my Grandmother. They came in a stash of beading supplies that had belonged to my Great Grandmother. She used to create beautiful hand beaded jewelry in her time.
All of her paperclay parts turn in their sockets therefore you can turn her head. She is a shelf sitter doll but you can also position her on a flat surface with a knee cocked and an arm resting on it :)
I made her pendant especially for her ~'til death do us part~ she says. Her boots have real laces (crochet thread) and I made her spider with hard styrofoam, wood, heavy wire, 2 part epoxy sculpt to hold the wire in, paperclay, plastic beads that I glossed for eyes, acrylic paint and matte sealer. You can't see in the photos here but the spider has 2 red dots and a long one down her back and an hourglass on her abdomen.

She is signed and dated on the back of her neck.

NOTE: Do not leave paperclay in direct sunlight for high heat will cause it to continue curing which will lead to cracking.
