Here a fashionably dressed lady with her Borzoi type dog (a common Art Deco theme) is walking in a snowy Christmas landscape. It is bordered by wide vertical bands of mistletoe and holly. The stylised background, clouds and the vertical lines in the borders are picked out in gold ink.
When I purchased it,I did not notice the traces of very faint pencil writing on the address side.It is almost invisible and can only be seen with a x 20 loupe, along with very miniscule (approx 0.5mm) slight lifting/buffing at bottom corners. These are barely visible and I consider them to be commensurate with age; they do not detract in any way from a stunning, collectible 1920's Xmas postcard from a sought after illustrator.
Sofia Chiostri was an Italian painter (1898-1944) and daughter of the artist who illustrated the story of "Pinnochio" Her postcards have become highly collectible, yet strangely enough very little is known about her life and career despite her being such a prolific illustrator.
This Xmas postcard would make a perfect gift for any serious collector of Chiostri Art cards. It has been scanned at 300dpi and my watermark will not appear on your card.
It comes from a non-smoking, pet free home and because it is a collectors item and so special shipping quoted is tracked International Signed For with insurance or UK confirmed delivery with a signature .It will be despatched in a card envelope.
If you would prefer to purchase a digital download of this collectors card to use on a limited licence for your craftwork it is located here.
