WOVEMBER is a project instigated by myself and Kate Davies to celebrate the wonderful fibre that is WOOL, and to challenge the fashion industry's misuse and abuse of that term.
Taken from the official WOVEMBER site at www.wovember.com:
"The idea is to show our collective appreciation of WOOL by wearing as much of this fabulous fibre as possible, and celebrating WOOL and its unique qualities in stories and pictures throughout the month of November. We hope that through our enthusiasm and creativity we can raise awareness of WHAT MAKES WOOL DIFFERENT, and jointly create a force for WOOL APPRECIATION strong enough to effect changes in how garments and textiles are described and marketed."
To this end, all WOVEMBER badges are covered in 100% WOOL, and are designed to extend your wardrobe to include fashion accessories derived from some of the wonderful, distinctive textiles which have been produced from the fleeces of SHEEP. The Harris Tweed in this WOVEMBER badge has deliberately been left bare and does not have a protective plastic coating, in order that the tactile qualities of the WOOL itself may be appreciated.
As well as it's 100% WOOL covering, this button badge also features a plastic and metal safety back pin, as pictured here in the photos.
I have tried to capture the specific heathery colours of the tweed covering this button badge, which is a beguiling blend of dark greens and blues, flecked with warm greys and golds. However please note that different monitors show colours in different ways and the actual fabric shades may differ slightly in reality to what you see on your screen when you order.

To emphasise the connection between the Harris Tweed from which this badge has been made and the animals from which that fabric ultimately came, the brown card tag on which the badge is presented has been hand-stamped with an image of a SHEEP in waterproof, blue ink.
