This wreath, made from an 1878 law book, (the book the wreath is resting on in the photos), makes the perfect gift for:
high school history teachers
We do NOT ink the edges of this wreath-the book pages are already brown on the edges due to the age of the antique book.
I guarantee you they won't find anything exactly like this, whether it's for Valentines, a special birthday or anniversary, congratulating them for a promotion, or welcoming the giftee to a new home. These are ultimately practical, because they can be used year round. Originally I made these wreaths out of piano music: I found stacks of vintage piano sheet music books I'd saved over 25 years when I was preparing for this fall's piano students whom I teach. I hated to throw out the music, and decided I would re-purpose it into something beautiful. Then I decided, due to a customer's special request - thanks BONNIE!-to branch out and do different subjects in my original design. I personally cut each page, rolled, folded, and crimped it, and wove it through the strands of this grapevine wreath, securing it with adhesive to make this lovely wreath. And, the best part is I did NOT ink the edges of the paper on this one-the books age caused the edges to be brown already... It could be hung with or without a ribbon, or suspended from vintage lace, or it could even be used as a large candle ring or a wedding centerpiece...and I'm sure you'll think of more year round uses for this piece :) It measures approximately 22" round, with a slightly oval shape, as you can see in the photos.
This same style wreath is available in other themes:
vintage sheet music (this is my biggest seller...)
vintage hymnal music wreath (added due to customer's request-this wreath looks more "white")
vintage gardening book wreaths (for the gardener, farmer, agriculture. garden lover)
Shakespeare (a fabulous find, thanks to my antique book friend! this one has red edges.. )
Winston Churchhill (from 1952)
engineering (yes, for the geeks who appreciate older vintage books)
This listing is for a law wreath like the one shown, and I plan to make many more just like it...however, I can make yours out of one of the other vintage/antique books listed above, if you specify that as you check out. Please allow me at least 7 business days to get your lovely wreath made.
Your wreath will be carefully packaged and shipped; you (or the gift recipient) can even save the box and use it to store the wreath in when not in use, but I think you'll want to keep this lovely wreath on display. I'll also include some extra page pieces just in case things get jostled in shipping, even though we take utmost care to carefully and tediously pad and pack the larger items we ship. I do ship internationally normally, but I'm sorry~ items this large make international shipping not feasible for you or for me:(
Contact me with any questions you may have.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.
