This little kit is designed to get the beginner started in learning how to "doodle" with needle and thread! Each kit contains
--6 colors of 100% wool embroidery thread
--2 pieces of fine linen embroidery fabric (one natural, one white)
--2 embroidery needles
--1 4" diameter wooden embroidery hoop
--1 booklet full of instructions for basic stitches and some ideas for how to combine them into little pictures. The instructions are illustrated by my own hand-drawings.

All of this is wrapped up in a cardboard CD case and block printed with an original lino-cut by me! (see second photo) The whole thing is about 5"x5"x.25", plus the width of the hoop tied onto the little box.

I wanted to put a kit together like this because embroidery has so many possibilities, and the best way to learn can be with small simple projects and a lot of artistic freedom. Let your imagination take these basic stitches and turn them into little masterpieces. . .or just play around, undo it, and start over!

Makes a great gift since all the elements are self-contained and you wouldn't even need to wrap it.
