Each diamond is cut and sanded by hand out of red oak. The wood is natural color and not stained. Hot pad is sprayed with a gloss acrylic lacquer to protect and seal the wood. The lacquer brings out the natural wood grain beauty and gives the hot pad a hard finish. Hot pad can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth, and resists stains.
Hot pad measures approximately 12 inches (30 cm) across. The base is 1/2 inch (1 cm) birch plywood cut in an octagon shape. The diamonds are 5/8 inch (1.2 cm) tall. Total height is just over 1 inch (2.2 cm).
Hot pad has a hanging slot on the back. It can be hung between uses for easy storage and a decorative addition to any room. There are 4 vinyl bumpers on the back of the hot pad to prevent slipping against the counter top or table.
