The slippers are intended to be used indoors and fit more like socks then shoes. If you wish for sturdier and more hard wearing slippers, I recommend adding latex coating to the bottom of your slippers. More details from the link below,

• Washing instruction: Hand wash in cold water, Reshape and Air dry
• If you see any loose end while wearing the slippers, simply pull it tight and cut the yarn to hide them in stitches again. I guarantee all ends are weaved in properly.
