While trying to write something interesting about snowballs I discovered “self-rolling snowballs” on Wikipedia... but I'm a bit suspicious!
“Under certain, rarely occurring circumstances, self rolling snowballs form on their own. These circumstances are:
• The ground must have a top layer of ice. This will prevent the snowball from sticking to the ground.
• That ice has to have some wet and loose snow that is near its melting point.
• The wind has to be strong enough to push them. Yet, it cannot be too strong.
• Also, gravity could cause the snowballs to form instead of the wind.
Because these conditions have to take place at the right place in the right time, it is considered a phenomenon”

This brooch is made from 100% pure Angora fur (don’t worry, the fur is brushed from the rabbits – I love bunnies!) which is incredibly soft and warm to the touch. A tiny amount of glittering electric blue Angelina, along with a sparkling Swarovski crystal has been added to the surface to complete the snowball appearance.
Angora is more challenging to felt than the wool I normally use but the result is really worth the effort. This beautiful brooch is even nicer in person, it’s difficult to capture the glittering surface of the brooches in the photos.

The Big Chill brooch is approx. 5cm/2 inches wide and approx 2.5cm or 1 inch at its widest point. The back of this brooch/pin is finished with a baby blue wool felt.
