Glass Bowl Fused

This 6.5 inch shallow glass bowl rests on atop three glass marbles raising it from the surface of the table by 1 inch. This kilnformed glass bowl required 2-3 firing of up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit to create the glass and then take it's form. It was meticulously ground and polished between firings for a smooth rim. In the final firing a light coating of glass powders depicting a muted floral image was applied to the surface for additional texture and visual interest.
