Handturned Desk Pencil Cup or Vase
From rowecraft
Pencil cup or vase with checkerboard rings, I used segmented wood turning techniques to create wood grain in one direction. It is made from mahogany, hard maple, and black walnut. It is 4 1/2 inches high and 4 inches in diameter. Finished with lacquer and shellac. There are 150+ pieces glued together in rings and then handturned on the lathe. I have signed the bottom.
