For the cover, I've used an ivory silk fabric with bird-like images embroidered with metallic threads and sequins. The cover is interfaced to provide a light stiffness and lined with a coordinating golden cotton quilting fabric. Handbound with ivory DMC embroidery floss using a longstitch binding; this book opens flat for writing. The inside is filled with 140 pages (counting both sides) of handmade ivory coloured paper with gold metallic thread inclusions with a soft deckled edge on all sides. This handmade paper is made by a local company, Botanical Paperworks. Because each sheet of paper is handmade, the thickness may vary slightly from page to page. This book fastens securely with a button closure: simply wrap the braided cord around the journal and loop around the vintage mother-of-pearl button.
This journal measures 17 x 14.5 cm and 3.5 cm thick (6.75 x 5.75 x 1.5”).
