Silk charmeuse is the epitome of luxury; the experience of wearing a 19.5mm silk scarf against your skin cannot match anything else. I worked on this piece off and on for months and months, and finally am satisfied with the result: Dogwood buds, oak leaves, and pine needles give you a glimpse of winter colors in Virginia. There are many layers of color, including dark and golden rust brown, reddish purple and lavender, forest green, charcoal, and the blending of dark and light contrasts.
Silk charmeuse has a muted crepe texture on the back side and shimmery lustrous satin on the top side, and is so substantial that it needs to be dyed on each side individually. The drape of this piece must be felt to be appreciated, and the design will never be duplicated.
