I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make are from now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio. I poured this from an Alberta mold that is unfortunately not stamped with the date. I’m guessing that, due to when my grandmother had her studio, it is from some time in the 1950’s – 1960’s. As with my other ceramics, I pour each piece, clean it while greenware, fire it in my kiln, paint and glaze it, and fire it again. I am happy to do custom orders for other colors – just convo me! Custom orders need a turnaround of 4-5 weeks to allow time for multiple firings.
