Ne plus ultra! Rare museum quality Jean Patou Adeptuene silk dress with beading and attached rhine stone bakelite belt circa 1929! This is the ultimate Gatsby flapper gown. The well heeled set would order these dresses in high end department stores from French catalogs. The patterns and materials were sent from Paris and the gowns were made to measure for the client in house. Much more sophisticated than today's ready to wear. All rhinestones and beading are intact and the silk is a brilliant poppy red. She has her issues of course. The snaps need replacing and there is an odd pin hole and shredding under the arms. Never the less, you will not find another one of these and with a little nip and tuck is wearable. We feel it belongs in a museum as it is the perfect example of the year 1929 and of the genius of Jean Patou.
