I have finally procured enough wood to get some large bowls turned. Although its hard to imagine, its not easy to find wood large enough to produce large bowls and different pieces. In order to get this wood cut and bowls turned I have had to take some drastic measures. This bowl was turned green from Black Ash wood, with the rim carved and the outside blackened with fire. This bowl is intended to be used for food. It has a round bottom so it does not sit flat, but then again do any of us sit flat? The color of the inside is a wonderful contrast to the outside. With having been burnished the grain of the Ash wood has taken on a delightful new look and feel. Just imagine you and your better half enjoying a nice movie with some extra butter popcorn outta this bad boy. Thanks for looking.
This bowl measures: 6" tall by 14-3/4" long by 12-5/8" wide. The bowl is finished with lemon oil and beeswax.
