Made mostly from soft cotton, this lace is nothing like the scratchy, starchy laces you might be accustomed to. It has a very vintage feel to it which is what attracted me in the first place. The pattern reminds me vaguely of flowers or leaves without being overwrought. In order to keep the shirt itself from being too busy while using so much lace, I kept the cut fairly simple. With half length sleeves and a wide boat neck in the front, my only indulgence was adding in the deeply cut scoop neck in the back. It isn’t so low that your bra strap will show, but it will definitely be a surprise when that certain someone helps you out of your coat. The fit is made to be loose and fairly forgiving of those extra midday snacks. The fabric is sheer, but not overtly so and can be worn pretty easily with nude bras underneath, or would look wonderful with contrasting layers too. Incredibly easy to wear, it looks great with draping necklaces, messy hair, and long jackets.
