On this Adelmaar blouse, the collar is this embroidered-like crocheted-like lace. A wide panel down both sides of the front is the open work lace. From the shoulder to the cuff is the openwork lace. The cuff is the same only lined. And another strip of openwork lace runs down the entire center of the back.
This would make for an elegant-yet-hippie type top, except my mom had one in her closet by the time I was wearing her clothes (1968), in ecru, which I absconded with (with her blessing). And she was not a hippie dresser, although I was :).
The peek-a-boo that all this open lace creates between your skin (or underwear) and the viewing public is something to keep in mind. This opens up all kinds of interesting possibilities.
The neckline is classically exquisite, taken further by the lace frame. All together a wonderful old piece. NO stains, no rips, no bad odors. Only thing to point out is the right from arm seams need reinforcing, as does a small place on the other sleeve (some seam stitching has loosened, a 1" gap in the armpit seam is open).
Every other aspect is very very good. The blouse is 100% collton. It is straight on the bottom, which opens the possibility of wearing it tucked out, as is or with a long vest. It is going to look fab under a sweater, a blazer or suit jacket or a jumper.
