I carved this Sherlock Holmes pattern into an Arthur Conan Doyle Book. The pages are secured with professional book binding glue.
I do carve each and every of my books by hand, so there may be small differences even between similar patterns.
This book would be good for discretely hiding small items such as cash or jewelry.
The book itself measures 5-5/8 inches wide by 8-1/2 inches tall by 3/4 inches thick.
The hollow cut-out is about 5 inches tall by 3-1/4 inches wide and it's about 3/4 inches deep.
(these are approximate measurements as the cut-out is not symmetrical. I tried to measure it from the tallest and widest spots).
*This is an upcycled, vintage rescued book, and as such it is in used condition. It shows some signs of wear and tear but the binding is in fair condition. It's condition will help it blend into your bookshelf as non-descript. It came from a non-smoking household (so far as I can tell).
