This is a very sweet Art Deco era ring from 1932 featuring a very bright and lively old mine cut diamond set in solid 14K white gold....

The diamond is approximately 3.4 mm in diameter so is approximately .15 to .16 carats. It has a nicely elevated table and open culet and is quite fiery. I would estimate the color to be in the H-I range of near colorless. It is eye-clean and under my 14x loupe I only see a few small clear crystalline inclusions...it's a pretty little diamond!

The stone is set in a nicely stylized illusion style head that is approximately 7 x 9 mm in size. It definitely gives the diamond more presence on the hand. There are four prongs integrated into the head and the prongs are in quite good condition. The rise off the finger to the top of the diamond is approximately 6 mm.

On either shoulder is a pretty flower detail and underneath the setting is some simple but nice filigree. The only condition issue I see is that one of the little swirls is no longer in contact with the base of the band. It does not affect the structural integrity of the ring and is really only noticeable under magnification. It certainly could be touched up by a jeweler if desired...it would be an extremely minor repair. One swirl on each side is filled in with gold, and that appears to be how it was originally made.

The band is still very strong and shows only a tiny bit of thinning at the very back of the band. Inside, there is engraving with the date "32 - 7*5." (the asterisk I've used is actually a small "." but is in the center of the line, used like a hyphen.) There is also the name "Bernie" in lovely hand engraved script lettering. These could likely be polished out of the ring, but I personally like having some of the history of the ring still apparent!

The ring is currently a size 4.5 and could be sized by a good jeweler experienced with older rings. (** Please read my policies page regarding sizing or feel free to convo me to discuss it!) The sizing would need to be done carefully if you didn't want to disturb any of the engraving. The rings total weight is 3.20 grams.

This lovely old ring is in very, very good vintage condition and is ready to be enjoyed by a it's new owner!

Please convo with any questions and Thanks for looking!
