It is one of my 'Cupid to the Rescue' brooches! Cupid? Rescue? Well, I guess he gives the impression of flying around, mending hearts and fixing tears, and he is such a happy colour that the name just stuck. He is bound to make you smile! Cupid is embellished with a sparkling diamante blue belt, a fragment of vintage lace and genuine Swarovski crystals, and, all of these are topped with a moulded pewter doll face.
Cupid is made from New Zealand merino fibre that I hand felted then backed with a firm piece of vilene which helps keep his shape and makes him wearable and robust. The vilene is backed with a rather smart black fabric then the brooch back is applied using invisible thread.
