Pendleton Wool Baby Booties are made by Trillium Artisans member Jean Abbott of Mama Jean's Kind Threads. Please visit her Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/jeanabbott.

Jean loves making things that are reflective of bygone days, like the 1940’s. People used to make almost everything for their babies including these little booties.

So Jean thought, "Why not use something as traditional and wonderful as Pendleton Woolen Mills blankets? They’ve been a part of Oregon since 1869 and have some amazing patterns. I can just imagine your baby all dressed up and wearing these booties, and everyone saying, 'Oh, how sweet.' That’s what I love, creating beautiful things for others. So from my heart, and from Portland, I hope they bring you joy, and smiles, and sweet memories."

These booties are made from upcycled Pendleton wool blankets in burgundy and gray.

For ages 6 months - 9 months. The bottom of the shoe is about 4" long (10.16 cm).

Trillium Artisans is a nonprofit community economic development organization that supports low-income artisans in the city of Portland, Oregon, USA, who create handmade items using a minimum of 50% recycled or reclaimed materials.

Born and raised in Oregon, Jean Abbott has been sewing for 40 years and will be until the day they lay her to rest. Each item is one of a kind, created straight from the heart, filled with dreams and wishes for the wearer or owner. Being a woman of size, she found it difficult to find clothes that were colorful or whimsical to wear, so she began sewing her own clothes back in the day, and has never looked back. Jean also spent years creating and making costumes for theaters in and around Portland. A number of years ago she dreamed of creating Mama Jean's Kind Threads and her dream has become a reality. Now, she can spend her days creating and designing, and hopefully bringing a bit of magic into the world for others.

Thank you for looking at Jean's booties, and please see our other listings for more gifts, accessories, and decor items made from recycled materials. Indie crafts with a green twist!
