I made these bookends from a used pair of shiny red high heel high heel platform pumps- They are drilled with epoxy to steel plates, and are quite sturdy. They'll handle the most verbose volumes in your library. They are heavy- about a pound and a half each.
These upcycled stiletto heels are a visual reminder of the increasingly artificial representations of femininity in American culture.
