These earrings are made with 3/4" glass domes, set in aged copper, under which is featured Dewey Decimal numbers from vintage library catalog cards. I will select the numbers for you, and will include the cards the numbers were cut from so you know what books you're "wearing." Very cool gift for the librarian, bibliophile, or geek in your life! Awesome gifts for new graduates of MLS and MLIS programs!
The numbers you receive will be different from the ones pictured here, but you can be sure they'll have the same nerdtastic appeal.
I use a water resistant epoxy, but since one element of these earrings is paper, you should remove them before bathing or swimming.
FYI - your pair will differ from this but for the curious, the 810.9 is a book of American Literary Masters, and the 299.16 from a book on Celtic Folklore. The last photo is of a different set of earrings (done in brass, the copper is a warmer toned metal) but it will give you a view of what the earring back looks like.
