The pattern for this hand made wall-hanging was published in Better Homes and Gardens in 1985 and I was smitten! I just had to make it, but I always tweak patterns a little to put my stamp on them. In this case, I added some candlewicking embroidery to the baskets and the open area surrounding the center panel. I also quilted my own holly-leaf motif in the open area {see photo #4}. There's a combination of patchwork and applique techniques used to piece this quilt.

This festive red, green and soft white wall-hanging is in perfect condition and measures about 37" x 31". There is a pocket along the top at the back to insert a hanging rod {not included}. A cafe curtain rod works well.

The center block is called Christmas Lilies, the side borders are Trees Everlasting and the bottom border is Holly Berry Baskets. It is all hand-quilted and embroidered. The fabrics are cotton and the batting is polyester.

It's easily stored - just remove whatever rod you used to hang it and roll or fold up ready for next year.
