The dress is a 70's style crossover back sunfrock, perfect for summer, made from a mixture of upcycled linens.
One side is a pale aqua blue cotton with white and darker blue polka dots, this used to be a baby sheet. The crossover back is made from white cotton fabric covered with pink and aqua butterflies.
The inside is made from a vintage striped sheet, featuring stripes of aqua blue, yellow, pink and purple. There is also pure white seersucker lining the back.
Around the edge is a decorative crenulated topstitch, in matching variegated thread.
The matching seersucker bloomers or nappy cover have two rows of gathered white lace to accentuate that cute little bottom.
The dress is completely reversible, so if she gets it dirty (or just feels like a change) turn it inside out. So versatile.
All fabrics and lace used in this outfit are environmentally friendly, having been recycled from the op-shop and given a new lease on life. Of course I thoroughly washed the fabric, dried it in the sun and ironed it before use.
