This nature inspired collection came about when I was in the Grand Canyon. I couldn’t stop collecting these beautiful pieces of driftwood that I came across. (is it called driftwood if it comes from the desert?)
Each piece has its own unique beauty..twisted from the desert wind, weathered by the elements, faded by the sun… with this as my inspiration, I started adding beautiful handspun yarn that resembled the colors of sun, hammered copper, nails and/or wire. I was so pleased with the results that I wanted to keep them all, but I can’t!
This one has a glass jar with "sand" which reminded me of an hour glass, so I stamped the copper tin with the word time. Copper wire attaches the wood at the sides.
This piece measures 20" long, the wood pendant hangs 4" long. The clasp is a hook made from copper wire and hooks to the front.
The yarn, handspun with magenta tinsel fibers, was macremed and twisted to form part of the "chain" of the necklace. One of a kind, handcrafted by JoMama in the USA.
So..I hope you like what you see.
