A gorgeous, late Georgian or early Victorian mourning ring from the 1800s with a hardstone set in the center surrounded by two grey seed pearls set at each side of the stone. The hardstone is delicately carved into a flower and set into beaded bezel. The shank is decorated with very fine etchings and chased work and has compartments with woven, chestnut-brown hair set inside it. There are no fraying and no missing hair from the compartments. The shank of the ring is in a perfect open round and marked with a complete set of English hallmarks. The workmanship of the ring is excellent, however there are two tiny gold beads missing at the top of the hardstone. Overall condition of the ring is very good.
