Topper is pieced from scraps - really! Lime green linen, topstitched at every seam to emphasize the patchwork. . . .and filled out on the very top with a happy little scrap of vintage brown calico. Orphan brown coat button to finish.
Topper measures 5.5" wide at widest point. Towel is 13.75" long and 15" wide at bottom. Total hanging length when buttoned is 17.5". (The loop that the towel is buttoned on in the photo is a bit small, so the topper is pushed together; on a towel bar or oven handle, it lays flat)
Machine wash and line dry to keep it smelling best (dryers bake in smells).
Just in case you wonder: what is an hanging hand towel or oven towel?
An oven towel buttons on to your oven door handle and reminds people to dry their hands there, instead of the dishtowels. Might keep your dish-drying towels sanitary longer. An oven towel also looks more deliberate and functional than a dishtowel slung over the bar. Or you can hang it elsewhere as a hand towel (loop can accomodate approx. 1" wide bar).
