This 5 ft square blanket is constructed of strips cut from used wool sweaters. I assembled a group of as many different sweaters as I could find that fit into this cheerful pallet. The components are carefully cut and zig-zag stitched edge to edge creating a single plane that is nearly the same on both sides. All the raw material seams and the back sides of the origninal sweaters are on the back. I edged all four sides in the yummiest fig colored silk satin. You will find hand sewn details in soft wool yarn. These details add interest and serve to cover imperfections on the surface.
It is warm and bright providing some lovely sunshine to any interior space.
Because I use used sweaters as raw material each blanket I make is individual - like the people who wore the sweaters to start with!
