This piece has the form or glaze number 89 (or 68, depending on your read) on it's bottom, without a signature. I have never seen a single one of these smallest of Daga's vases with a signature. And the others that I own are all marked the same.

Maigons Daga was born Latvia in 1921, then relocated to Australia in the early 50s as a reugee from World War II. He began producing studio pottery in Australia, moved his family to America in 1964, and eventually opened a studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Maigons Daga lived out his creative years in Minneapolis until his passing in 2001. Daga had begun to create animal forms in the 80s, which became a very successful direction for him. His studio was reopened in the last few years by family and others under the name Daga Design, and they continue to produce many of his original animal sculptures.
