All the these stamps were handmade by me for my book Nest Building Perils & Pleasures. This book was made as part of the Artists Book Group I belong to - Book Art Object. http://bookartobject.blogspot.com/
I love birds and I love making rubber stamps so for me this was the perfect combination. I stamped one Moleskine as a gift and really liked the result so decided to make some more. I have hand cut the text "Hope is the thing with feathers". I typed the text on my lovely Silver-Reed Silverette Typewriter and scanned it in. Then I enlarged it to twice its size and transferred to the rubber. I used one of my favourite inkpads for the text - London Fog, a lovely grey coloured ink.
All the stamps are drawn from my own photographs (except for the Bower Bird and Eider Duck - these were drawn from various bird books). I have used black Archival inks and Fade Resistant Dye Inks for the colours. All inkpads were purchased from the wonderful Blade Rubber Shop in London. http://www.bladerubberstamps.co.uk/site/inkpads.php
