There is more to us than meets the eye. Underlying our existence, that is what we do not see when we look in the mirror, is a composite of all that surrounds us, of all the things we have touched and been influenced by. I use my work to map these unseen connections in our lives and describe the patterns of this unfolding. There are bridges that connect across space and time, boundaries that speak to personal history, shadows of memory and hollow spaces of a past fading away. Intersections point to meaningful events that the heart keeps coming back to or a place where life took a turn. Reactions are reflected in a shift in the pattern. Fragments of the past evoke objects that are at once located in the present but also the space where our memories reside. The geography of the everyday is exposed in the layers of history we encounter as we make out way through life.
