I am currently creating invasive species art to educate the public on damage these species are doing to local ecosystems.

Invasive species are species that are introduced purposely or accidentally to an area they do not inhabit naturally and disrupt the balance of local ecosystems by outcompeting the species that are native to the area.

You will receive an 8X10 signed and numbered limited edition print/replica of my original artwork, which was made of pressed invasive plants. You will also receive a signed certificate of authentication from Art.Science.Gallery. Invasive plants harvested from parks in Texas and Ohio to make these insects include Heavenly Bamboo, Privet, Chinaberry Tree, Garlic Mustard, Elephant Ear, Water Hyacinth, Barberry, Autumn Olive, Multiflora rose, Honeysuckle, and Buckthorn. The Japanese Beetle some rose petals to show which native plants they destroy. Plants were adhered with sustainable plant-based glue. You can select between the Tawny Crazy Ant, Emerald Ash Borer, Japanese Beetle, Red-eared Slider, Yellow Jacket, European Corn Borer, Cactus Moth Caterpillar, or Asian Ladybird Beetle.

Just because these species are unsustainable doesn't mean the artwork has to be! These prints are made on sustainable bamboo paper. These would make a great gift for someone doing research on these species.

I get all my prints done from Fine Print Imaging, a company powered by 100% renewable energy.
More from Fine Print Imaging about their sustainable bamboo paper:
