This is a funny set inspired from the original Tenniel's drawing made for Carroll's Story "Adventures of Alice in Wonderland" on a vintage german Arzberz porcelain 3 pieces set , cup with matching saucer and cake plate.
In the cup, Alice is calculating the "non birthay days" 365- 1 birthday = 364
On the saucer the sentence:
"there are tree hundred and sixty-four days within you might get un-birthday presents." says Hampy Dampy.
On the cake plate Hampy Dampy's continues "and only one for birthday presents, you know!"

The set has been fired in a ceramic kiln at a temperature above 1100 degrees that make them suitable for warm as for cold drinks.
Even though drawing is fired in a ceramic kiln after application it sould be washed gently by hand.
The same motif can be adjusted to big variety of vintage or antique porcelain pieces:
