Formed from a single piece of solid 14 gauge copper wire, the design of the shaft doubles back and alternates twisted and straight sections to create holding friction. Each piece is heated to soften the wire and is individually hand formed without the use of a jig, then alternately hammered on wood and steel with steel and rawhide mallets to work harden and achieve final shaping.

Antiqued Finish: (appears in 1st and 2nd photos)
Copper is oxidized then sanded and burnished to reveal copper highlights.
Bright Shiny Finish: (as appears in all photos except first)
Copper finish is untreated and will patinate to a warm penny brown over time. To maintain a bright and shiny appearance using a natural and non-toxic cleaner, periodically polish with a bit of tomato ketchup or lemon juice.
