I learned ceramics like an old-school apprentice, at the feet of my grandmother who had a studio in the 1950s and 1960s, and many of the pieces I make are from now-vintage molds that she bought then. My pieces are unique, hand painted, and proudly made in my own home studio. I was very happy to come into this mold recently; it is a versatile piece, and of course appealed to me immediately as both a ceramicist and a yarn lover. As with my other ceramics, I pour each piece, clean it while greenware, fire it in my kiln, paint and glaze it, and fire it again.
